I was sitting in my family room, playing xbox and chatting on AIM at the same time, and something odd struck me.
God says “You shall have no idols before me”
OFTEN we think of idols as some gold elephant statue or some statue of a big fat asain guy w/ bigass earlobes. And many think that worshipping involves getting on your knees and bowing down.
What I didn’t realize, was in my heart, there were MANY other idols in my life. No I don’t worship some gold statue, but INSTEAD I realized I’ve been “bowing down” to a picece of plastic some people call Xbox. Many times we spend more time w/ our video games, computer games, computer, AIM, etc… than we do w/ God. Once we start spending more time w/ those things than God, we are literally putting them infront of God. We are taking time out of our lives to hang out w/ a piece of plastic instead of hanging out w/ the one who created us.
LORD, I want to be a person after Your own heart. Open my heart, Father. Open my eyes so that I may truly know your love. Lord I pray that I KNOW your love Father. I pray that I don’t just serve a religion/church, but I serve the one and only living God.
